First Words & Numbers Board

Description

Measuring 195mm x 195mm, used in infants for Number and Phonics Work. The number work activities are the same as those described for the ‘Letters, Numbers and Sounds Board’ above. All 30 First Words are made up of the first 6 sounds that most children learn nowadays i.e. s, a, t, i, p and n. It is a hands-on, kinetic exercise board whereby the teacher blends the sounds together and calls n – a -p (nap). Children peg it. Can everybody place a blue peg in a -n – t (ant) etc. Focus initially on two letter words, then three letter and then 4 letter words, building blending, aural and oral skills. Alternatively, give children a chance to call a word and their peers peg it. Lots and lots of possibilities. See guide.
